Our Mission

About

A tribute archive to the New Orleans trio who invented swinging close-harmony.

Bozzies.org is dedicated to preserving the memory of the Boswell Sisters.

Martha, Connee, and Vet Boswell recorded seventy-five sides between 1925 and 1936, invented the swinging vocal harmony that shaped every close-harmony group that came after, and vanished from the popular consciousness before the Second World War. This archive exists to change that.

We pull together the best Boz content available — recordings, press coverage, chart data, biographies, tribute performances, and scholarship — and present it as a living reference for anyone who wants to hear, learn, and share.

What we do

  • Preserve digitized Boswell Sisters recordings from public-domain sources.
  • Publish audio lessons, essays, and interviews that explain how the Boswells actually did what they did.
  • Track chart positions, album reviews, and press coverage across a century of writing on the trio.
  • Document tribute performances, memorials, and community events that keep the Boswell sound alive.

Who we are

Bozzies.org is a non-profit tribute site, curated with the participation of Boswell family members, historians, musicians, and enthusiasts around the world. The archive is stewarded by a small group of volunteers; the content and technology are open to anyone who wants to contribute.

Get involved

If you're a researcher, performer, family member, or listener with material to add — recordings, photographs, press clippings, personal recollections — we would love to hear from you. If you can support the archive with a donation, every contribution keeps us Bozzing.
